Sarcastic Oblivion

Sarcastic Oblivion

A Poem by Chase Dylan
"

Caustic reptilian...

"
Sarcastic oblivion is a caustic reptilian
Is a cause for a million trillion billion villains to shed their skin chillingly...
Willingly still
A fed lamb on ah-grill...
Still as dams filled
A still of damnable swill...
A pill and refill the drill that will build flammable hills
With will of steel...
Tamable fields steal gullible frame from the heels of seals
Healed like veal in halls of fame...
Flames and rain
Eels in pain...
Lame-brained canes and a deal with Cain to cradle Abel
Disabled enabled to go down in fables heard round the stables...
Tables round and able to saddle cables
Ladles making halos...
A noble payload

The words, the ambiance, the rhythm... I liked everything.
It seemed to me (at least in my mind as I read it) that the tone changed right before reading "Flames and rain", as if day turned into night and a strange deep and calm voice whispered the rest of the poem in my ears.
I loved it!

Lol, I loved this. It flows so well and has a fun (and sarcastic) tone that made me smile at the rhymes. Here I am returning the review favor 4 months later and I found a gem! Great work. :) Thanks for sharing.

This is several notches of brilliance above my ability to comprehend, but even at my low level, I'm blown away by your seemingly carefree careless effortless skipping rope down the sarcastic trail of life. I'm a rhyme-aholic myself, often love to do the same sound over many times, but you've taken this to a whole other pinnacle! The most exquisite thing is the way you repeat on a sound & then turn a corner to a different meaning, then riffing on rhyme awhile again, then turning another corner, etc. I actually found myself admiring your word play more than actually absorbing your message. This makes a writer want to play with words.

I hear this one being narrated over a thundering bass line with an old style squeaky Hammond organ wailing in counterpoint! Another vivid acid dream, my friend! Love it. My favourite part is the last few lines:
"Lame-brained canes and a deal with Cain to cradle Abel
Disabled enabled to go down in fables heard round the stables...
Tables round and able to saddle cables
Ladles making halos...
A noble payload.'.
The lead guitar cuts in over the bass for this part and screams its way into oblivion!
Wonderful stuff!
