The Song

The Song

A Poem by Sean Allen

Just something I wrote for a friend

The song

You stand and look,
to study her curves.
Your hand reaches
but gently pauses….

As a twinkle of light
catches your eye.
A reflection of the Sun
on a moist tear perhaps?

Or is it just the slightest
imperfection…. or not.
Actually it may just be
the essence of beauty.

As you gently hold a
delicate tapering leg,
you touch her cheek
with your fingernail.

And you hold her close
to listen to her song.
While you think about
a gentle Siren beckoning.

You decide, she’s the one
and you set her down….
and open the bottle.
As you pour, you prepare….

To kiss her lip!
