A Bright Morning Sun

A Bright Morning Sun

A Poem by Sean Allen

A Bright Morning Sun

Can you remember
that day in September?

When falls coming chill
had sent air that was still.

And the world horrified,
just stood there and cried.

Can you remember
that day in September?

When pictures were posted,
on walls that were hosted.

As lovers stood helpless
to imagine what caused this.

Can you remember
that day in September?

When strangers were heroes
and bodies lay in rows.

 “Daddy won’t come tonight…
kids, it just isn’t right.”

Can you remember
that day in September?

When ideals that were foreign
attacked what we held sovereign.

And our spirits united as one,
under a bright morning sun.

come forward, let's talk and solve...!! i am sure no religion teaches violence and attacking poor hapless souls...

A great tribute to that terrible day "when strangers were heroes".

I like the message of unity. Very pleasant read, makes me feel in harmony with myself and the others and the universe. I like your positive seeing of world.

The day froze and will be etched in many a soul and mind. All the computers at work were switched to the news and mouths were gaping. Yes, just like Dallas in the early 60's as many can still recall, this day has changed the face of the globe.

9/11 is a time to remember, what we lost but also gained. United we stood, holding each other close, the ones who died all in vain. A nice tribute to that day... ks
