Ode To Sunday

Ode To Sunday

A Poem by Doodley
"

A simple ode, written in a simple minute.

"

The fair, soulful maiden of the cyclic end,
Who hath blessed me much through these long years,
Who gaveth her life and thrived on tears.

Through her gifts came wisdom, and her heart came warmth,
She eased the pain of life's melancholic tune,
For she breeds the sounds of silence, silence be here soon.

But alas, her love, forever cannot remain,
And as she wilts and fades in her dying hour,
I drown myself in her sunbeam shower.

Farewell, sweet maiden, draw in thy last breath,
For although thy dawn is never the same,
Somehow I know that we shall meet again.

Just a simple poem. Not intended to extend the boundaries of poetic verse. Just enjoy.
Any comments appreciated.

Wow, this flowed in a way that was almost "songful"? Like a song that I already knew the words to. I have insomnia because I am never able to shut my mind off, so although I feel that there is so much more to do, I know I must give in, and realize that tomorrow is another day. Thank you for your BEAUTIFUL words.

Somewhat chivalrous on reading for me, farewelling the fair maiden, then have the brave knight ride off on his quest. As always, always at your best Doodley!

Ah, I can so relate to this! Loved how you've compared Sundays to a young lady who's always so eager to leave.
That reminds me, my Sunday has been taken away! Gotta go to school tomorrow. We've been cheated...*sighs*

Much enjoyed. Well written, Doodley!

Thank you for reading and reviewing, Idle. I appreciate the time.
dear Doodley... Sunday sun is like lilacs in the Spring when rain soothes our mind. We need days to concentrate on warmth and generosity.
A woman’s warmth is beautiful after a night of moonbeams and dreams. truly, Pat
