Ode To Sunday

Ode To Sunday

A Poem by Doodley
"

A simple ode, written in a simple minute.

"

The fair, soulful maiden of the cyclic end,
Who hath blessed me much through these long years,
Who gaveth her life and thrived on tears.

Through her gifts came wisdom, and her heart came warmth,
She eased the pain of life's melancholic tune,
For she breeds the sounds of silence, silence be here soon.

But alas, her love, forever cannot remain,
And as she wilts and fades in her dying hour,
I drown myself in her sunbeam shower.

Farewell, sweet maiden, draw in thy last breath,
For although thy dawn is never the same,
Somehow I know that we shall meet again.

Just a simple poem. Not intended to extend the boundaries of poetic verse. Just enjoy.
Any comments appreciated.

Wow, this flowed in a way that was almost "songful"? Like a song that I already knew the words to. I have insomnia because I am never able to shut my mind off, so although I feel that there is so much more to do, I know I must give in, and realize that tomorrow is another day. Thank you for your BEAUTIFUL words.

Beautiful and majestic- when you find that peace and connection but you know it cannot remain but in acceptance you hope for the return of something so pure and true🌹

Ah, beautiful Sunday. Her visits are glorious, but she never stays long enough. Very beautifully and romantically written. Enjoyable read!

Doodley,
This was very special. I have often found myself feeling melancholy as the week end winds down. Sundays at my house mean going to church, a special meal and just down time. Sunday's gift is precious and I appreciate that you have given it a voice as such. What a glamorous story you have given her! Blessings for sure! Kathy

Even tho this sounds a bit manufactured, I was able to overlook the convoluted nature of your writing, since this is just a nonsensical flash in the pan for you . . . . . JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I've been waiting to throw this s**t back in your face, for fun!!!) I figured it would be a safe poem to lambaste, since you didn't seem to hold it in high regard yourself! *smile*

PS . . . I did "just enjoy" . . .
