Transparent

Transparent

A Poem by Doodley
"

This poem came to life, born from idle thought.

"

I saw that Man upon the stair,
You know? The one who wasn't there?

I bowed with pride and said, "Good Day",
And past he rushed, went on his way.

Somewhat bemused, I ascended on,
Thinking awhile, "What went wrong?".

At corridor's end, a mirror there,
I could not help but stop and stare.

The face peered back, deep into me,
And there upon I ceased to be.

So careful thee, upon the stair!
Beware, the Man who wasn't there.

Polite you be, extend your grace,
Then turn and flee that fateful place.

Another simple poem, given birth from self reflection. Enjoy. Any comments appreciated.

Doodley,
"Transparent" was really a quizzical thing to read; analyze that is. How many times does a person in a quiet introspective time feel like an empty person? We see others, we see ourselves and know we all share so much in common.
How often do people not acknowledge one another coming or going as you say "on a stair?" and other places as well. "Past he rushed, went on his way."
Wow! Very interesting.. like the affirmation of how quickly our lives go by and do we value others and even ourselves?
Thought provoking one to the umpteenth degree!

Oh, so posh. Definitely worth the effort.
What delectable piece of surreal writing! Enjoyed the meter of the verse and the eerie, supernatural theme!
You are an effortless writer, D, and I am incredibly heartened to see your work here.
