What becomes of the Broken Hearted?

What becomes of the Broken Hearted?

A Poem by Doodley
"

Grief.

"
What becomes of the Broken-Hearted,

Whose Love did end before it started?

Whose foolish mind in its old age,

Allowed his Love to flee his cage.

It's a simple fool, would you not say,

Who makes his Love just fly away?

And how she fled! And with such haste!

Why such darkness on your face?

For he who loved deep in his soul,

Now pours his tears in his eternity bowl;

And never again will there be,

Their carefree Love, as waves on sea;

For it had ended before it started,

He joins the line of the Broken-Hearted.

Your poetry is so beautiful so powerful.
This poem really is quite heartbreaking, full of emotion tells quite the story.
I like the title quite allot.
Quite sad that some people finally realise what they had or could have had when it is to late.
Just comes down to they didn't fight or try hard enough unfortunately.
Wonderful write, storyline was great, sounded very poetic again, and rhyme scheme was flawless again.

This has a quick-stepped, musical and lyrical quality to a poem which has a dialectic of speech at two levels. One with the reader, and one with the narrator himself. It blends seamlessly into both, and the theme of the poem is well etched out. I particularly like the use of objects in your poem such as "eternity bowl" and "cage". It adds to the metaphorical vision and imagery, and it sets up the rhythm and takes on that of the waves of the sea as you have concluded.

As always you have my respect and admiration. You are an effortless writer, and there can only be emulation and enamor for such talent.

Best,
M.
