The Broken Shore

The Broken Shore

A Poem by Doodley
"

Dodoitsu.

"
Blessed be those Crusoe souls

Ravaged beneath blood red squall

Wrecked and violently scattered

'Pon love's broken shore.

Beautiful and powerful- yes the shore where those broken souls do lie deserted alone with no hope or belief- hanging on... not even sure if the want to be saved- oh so far far away- hoping to be found- I see upon a deserted island... once finding themselves maybe ...just wonderful🌹

Thank you for reading and reviewing, Hannah. I appreciate the kind words and all the support.
The wandering soul
Broken by a shore
Has the tides of time
Thrown them out to the sun
Of rays that bring about wisdom
Oft the ones left alone
Redeem the thoughts
Once lost
Unbroken by the shore

Lovely
Look what you made me do there ?!!

Thank you for reading and reviewing, Lingering soul. I appreciate the words. Copyright! Copyright!
I always admire anyone having a go at these more unusual poetry forms. I'm not that brave. An excellent metaphor used here to compare those who have been abandoned in love to Robinson Crusoe, stranded on an island. Conjures up some vivid imagery. Thank you.

a fine attempt! you did very well. Dodoitsu has a much in common with modern flash poetry, which may be something else you want to try your hand at :)

Don't know the form, but will research it.
Like the poem though. The sentiment is most certainly mine. Another way of saying, better to love and lost than to never have loved at all. Loves shore is populated with many encampments of the Crusoe Clan.

Glad to be invited.
Such meaning and imagery in only a few words. Nicely put together. ‘Crusoe souls’ is a great phrase!
