The Broken Shore

The Broken Shore

A Poem by Doodley
"

Dodoitsu.

"
Blessed be those Crusoe souls

Ravaged beneath blood red squall

Wrecked and violently scattered

'Pon love's broken shore.

Beautiful and powerful- yes the shore where those broken souls do lie deserted alone with no hope or belief- hanging on... not even sure if the want to be saved- oh so far far away- hoping to be found- I see upon a deserted island... once finding themselves maybe ...just wonderful🌹

If there was a shore for broken souls....then I think it would be over crowded ..... or maybe all our shores are filled with broken souls....
Maybe there is need for healing for everyone....
Just a miracle...or a magical potion perhaps.... wishful thinking... :)

In pity we view broken souls lost in the sea of love. So many are those cast aside, trodden on wgo never rise up

Slight typo! ...and WILL never rise up.
Admire the use of words like Crusoe souls which allude to those marooned in Stevenson's work with alacrity. The message of the poem is bereft of overt melodrama and yet pithy and strong to depict the haplessness when love is abandoned. Well written.

Thank you for reading and reviewing, Hannah. I appreciate the kind words and all the support.
The wandering soul
Broken by a shore
Has the tides of time
Thrown them out to the sun
Of rays that bring about wisdom
Oft the ones left alone
Redeem the thoughts
Once lost
Unbroken by the shore

Lovely
Look what you made me do there ?!!

I always admire anyone having a go at these more unusual poetry forms. I'm not that brave. An excellent metaphor used here to compare those who have been abandoned in love to Robinson Crusoe, stranded on an island. Conjures up some vivid imagery. Thank you.
