Bloodlust Springs

Bloodlust Springs

A Poem by Doodley
"

Dodoitsu.

"
In Bloodlust Springs does she bathe

Impure waters soaked in rage

Curdling scarlet frothing foam

'Pon an Eros corpse.

Hi Doodley!
Rage and sin are old bedmates!

The 7-7-7-5 structure is used to perfection to tell the story of a woman who in bloodlust has killed her own purpose of existence. It is a common trait of angry people to forget their own follies, their own impurities when they spew curdled frothing foam from their scarlet mouths on others, but they forget that they are watched and nothing under the sun goes unnoticed. Retribution or karma is then swift, the immediate fallout being the utter annihilation and death of Eros or love in their lives. Symbolically then, she’ll live on as a corpse! Barren, bitter and unloved. For that is her very nature, what comes innately to her.

I shudder to think who you were thinking of when you wrote this darkly disturbing and powerful piece! Not me I hope...I’m a good girl :(

I am elated and delighted you posted a new write after such a long time. Can you please write another, happier one for me?

Hmmmm- upon the corpse of love- sometimes it takes death to be reborn and love to reignite- true love never dies or fails but in the quest to find it the line between good and bad is very thin- lust and love can never be spelt the same- wonderful write🌹

Sorry, I'm late! Just got over with my exams. Trust me, those merciless people sucked the life out of us.

Anyway, the poem. So much said, Doodley. For some ravenous little beasts, love lasts as long as attraction does, or at least that's how I took it. Once again, the piece excelled in lucidity and the mythological mentions kept me googling. You never fail me teach me something new every time.
Potent, intense, but a lot more meaningful and relatable.

Four lines. But you don't really need any more than that.
The rage is there to see for all.
