Vice Grip

''The Brain''

Tell me that you really, truly care

All the lies have left my heart bare

Of any kind of respect for you

Look at yourself and the things that you do

How many times has the pipe sent you awry?

How many times have you made your children cry?

How many times have you thrown away your brain

Just to relieve a little of your lifelong pain

I get it, you had nobody growing up

In a rut, all screwed up, you were stuck

But you were just too weak to rise above it

Bleed us dry, use us how you see fit

That needle makes you oblivious

Never take us so serious

It's a shame that you blinded your own eyes

Now you can't see us when our souls have died

Just husks of what you once loved and knew

Don't care about how our world's askew

Your wife still loves you, we all still care

The lies swirl in your head, you best beware

About wandering thoughts about suicide

It's not too late for you to change inside

Take charge of your world

The one that you hurled

Into the bottomless pit of addiction and drugs

Get away from all the dealers and thugs

Here's hoping you take my advice

There's no true ilving with this vice

If you don;t survive, it's really too bad

I'd have loved to once again call you my dad.
