Reborn

A Poem by Literary Artist Dream

(Dream sequence. A large spaceship moves through the cosmos. We enter in to find a group of armed futuristic looking soldiers quickly moving a cargo box unto the ship’s freight. Across the box in large blue letters is sprayed: ‘’DREAM’’)

In

Reborn

(Captain’s room. The soldiers report before the ship’s captain, saluting him as they enter and stand before a huskee man wearing a skull’s eye patch)

Ship captain: well? Any signs of life?
Soldier 1: No sir
Soldier 2: Checked all of his vital signs sir.

(The captain lights a cigar.)

Ship captain: The transfer to space must have proven too much for him.

Soldier 3: Looks like it sir.

(The captain blows a puff of smoke, lowering the cigar)

Ship Captain: A shame too, the military could really use a man like Dream….

(Suddenly the ship’s alarm sounds frantically alerting the soldiers to duty)

Ship Captain: The freight room! Check the freight room!

(The soldiers rush into the room where Dream’s cargo is stored, only to find it torn asunder, as if by some powerful alien force. Now Dream hovers down before them, glowing with a crystal blue radiance)

Dream: My power is too great to be used…there must be compromise…

(Dream’s body begins to convulse, quaking the very compound of the spaceship itself)

Soldier 4: Stand back! Stand back! That’s an order!

(Some heed to that order, while others fire their laser guns, none of which effect Dream in the slightest.)

Soldier: Hold your fire! I said hold your fire!

(Dream continues to convulse then suddenly breaks into dance as a rock chord emerges)

I am

A little bit of dissonance
A little bit of writer noir

Career full of
praise
But can’t help the fact that
No one can see

these
scars

I am

 As Dream
Not even a bit insecure

The original Dream
To want

The literary tool
That haunts

No matter what I do
What I reveal

Just believe this is
Real

So no

don’t let go

Embrace these words
Because you always knew

I’m everything you think I am not
I  am the pen and I will not
Stop

I’m no fake
My pen it has a  way
My pen it has a way

It won’t be ignored

Time is the bandage
To restore
My pen it has a way

It wont be ignored

(Dream somersaults into the air as the military soldiers fire at him relentlessly now. He continues to radiate in his crystal blue glow)

I am

That little bit of dissonance
That little bit of innocence

No one could understand
Dream is more than a man

Though sometimes it won’t
Make sense

That’s why

I keep my led full of ink
Audience ever on the brink

Embrace these words
Because you always knew

I’m everything you think I am not
I  am the pen and I will not

Stop

I’m no fake
My pen it has a  way
My pen it has a way

It won’t be ignored

Time is the bandage
To restore
My pen it has a way

It wont be ignored
