The worth of happiness.

The worth of happiness.

A Poem by Endless Flight

If I were to look back into the past,
what would I see?

Would I see the memories of happiness among friends?
Would I see the joy of accomplishing something?
Would I see the blissfulness that I had lived through?

Or, would I see all the loneliness I felt?
Would I see the pain and anguish that I was put through?
Would I see the sorrow and fear?

Maybe. Or maybe not.
When I look back, I do see the anger, the bitterness, the betrayals.
And yet, I can now see beyond that.

I can see that if it wasn't for that,
I would never had felt the true value of happiness.
For it is how it should always be.

The greatest smile can only be found after surviving the greatest pains.
And that is what I see.
That's what my past shows.
And for that, I'm grateful.
