Symbolic

Symbolic

A Poem by Dressed in Poetry

The black upon her nails
(That matches the wristband she wears)
Is symbolic for her –
It does not represent her soul,
As some who wear the same believe,
For her soul is shining with love,
Nor does it signify her heart,
Because her heart beats with joy –
It embodies her mind,
Her black, twisted, decaying mind
Filled with
Dark thoughts she cannot shake,
Malevolent ideas she cannot get rid of,
Wicked feelings she cannot throw away.
The polish upon her nails,
Like the strip across her wrist,
Is a cover for all she wishes to hide,
A cloak for all the warped thoughts
That rain down upon her night and day.
Even more symbolic,
In her mind, at least,
Is that the polish is cracked and faded –
The band torn and frayed –
Like her will to live.

i really like your symbolic thinking, matches a piece of mine. i notice how much the wristband means. I have things that mean exactly that much, more then just what other people think. i liked this piece, good job. keep the good stuff coming. ill read it.
