Strips of Color

Strips of Color

A Poem by DuffyDreamer

I took all my art down today...the walls are barren without color, expression, something else to draw attention to. It's that much closer to looking like a cell. One that I'm trapped in, at least before I had something to ponder over and daydream about. Now? Four white walls haunting me. Looming over me with the lights off daring me to fall asleep. I lie awake.
My chest physically hurts. I wanted to claw them down, see strips of color smear down the wall like mascara does down my crying face. But I didn't. The numbness took over, the blind actions followed until I snapped out of it and saw the deed was done.
Goodbye.

" see strips of color smear down the wall like mascara does down my crying face."

That's what my room looks like!

I wish it were barren most days, or at least entirely one series of colors etc.

GOodbye? WHere are you going!?

Ha, sometimes I also feel like my walls are daring me to fall asleep. Its a strange and haunting concept...very well said
