Catastrophic - for Kathy Van Kurin

Catastrophic - for Kathy Van Kurin

A Poem by Duncan Brown
"

"

So wondrous is the shape unfolding

Mysterious has nothing matching

Every stretch a predatory warning

To each prey or friend in passing

Lethal innocence can be charming

And beauty so dangerously alarming

Predatory is this creature’s cunning

Arrogance without a fateful warning

In a coat so fine as of woven wine

A paradox of sleekness and shadow

Surveys the human lacklustre landscape

Purring charm and lethal right to swallow.

'Catastophic'
Duncan Brown,
Well you've gotten my attention. You are very witty and your way with words leaves me without any, ha ha. I also wondered is this Kathy Van Kurin any one I know. I love to read your writing!
Blessings,
Kathy

"Cats, no less liquid than their shadow". Your poem is as sensuous and sinuous as the feline predator
From your title, however, it first appeared that the poem was about Kathy --- most disconcerting....:-))

I really love this piece! The vocab, the structure, the flow; it's very good. Awesome job.
