Decisions to Right Turns to Endings

If things were as simple as
'START' and
'END',
I'd make sure that you
were never out of reach
because I hate the way there's
already a "used to be"
between us when it was once,
"I'll never leave" is the biggest
Lie to me if you're going to
Try and win this "Hearts for now"
versus "Future Loves" are a lie:
Maybe one of the
Best friends should come with
an expiration date so I can
take note of when the
End is on my to-do list
for the near-future. . .

Right after loving you with
all my heart takes place, and, babe,
you better keep tight hold of it
'cause I don't want to experience
Life After You.

If it were only as simple as
going back in Time
(is the healing power),
I'd erase my memory of you
so I wouldn't ever have
to see the outline of your face
and those daring eyes that
Follow me down to your
smile so I can trace my fingers
over your smooth lips.

If only it were that easy,
and if the news didn't read
Life After You: just as bad as the
End is here; you've just gotta
say the word and we'll make one
RIGHT
turn.

I really enjoyed this one. The first stanza threw me a little, however, and I found it difficult to get into.
The rest of the poem flowed excellently and some very clever turns of phrase...
"going back in Time

"say the word and we'll make one
RIGHT
turn."
As good as a lot of your older work, in my opinion.
