Greener

Greener

A Poem by Dye
"

A short poem about envy.

"

Hemlocks starring at me.

Green with envy as my golden leaves land on their prickly needles.

I am here for people to see.

Beautiful and tall I stand.  The others are green with envy.

~~~~
Nakedly I stand in the breeze.
Snow passing by me and falling gently on to you.
There you are more beautiful than me.
All I can do is envy.
Author's Note
Dye
Just a poem I wrote when the seasons were changing in New England. Everything is beautiful in the right setting.
The personification in this verse rings true... the way you convey to the reader the event... and just the nature of it all... the word play is done well with the words: green with envy... I can see the change in season as you reply in the Author's note... I'm off to find another treasure of a write... not writer... Good reading you... Diary Storm... when you have more work up for view... let me know...
Dye, I like the title and I like the metaphor, too. There is much more here than trees. I like the movement between the seasons. Our lives are like that. Some days I feel gloriously beautiful, other days I feel like an old witch. Nicely done. Angi~
Thank you Angi, I agree- I have plenty of days like this too.
A good way to use a metaphor. The shifting of envy is nicely done here.
Happy you like my style, this is one I did years ago-- but still me :)
What a great image you create with the juxtaposition of these views.
Thank you so much. I appreciate you stopping by to read it.
The seasons are each astoundingly beautiful in their own unique way and with each comes an aura all of their own! You have captivated the approaching autumn and winter so eloquently with these two descriptive verses and the jealously that can arouse from other's shortfalls!
A splendid write once more !
Thank you again Tom. Your review are always such a pleasure to read.
Yes and this is very beautiful also. I just love your imagery and the metaphorical view that sits within the poem(it could be about people also).
I think there is beauty in all the seasons. I guess there are parts of each that we like and parts that we don't. I love parts of winter but don't manage the cold etc etc.
Very much enjoyed reading this. Lovely writing indeed.
