Whilst on the Hollow

Whilst on the Hollow

I.
Hours pass in parades of faith
With shallow thoughts and lies
Time amid the swirling vein
Caress the rain and dyes
With saffron witch in forms of flames
Maroon the golden man
Spells join the frame to live insane
Spoil the gilded land

Whilst on the hollow of all darkness
The tear falls to the grass
In fire and water
The eyes peer through the glass

Song of western philosophy
Reaps love in harvest fall
Pictures in epicurean
Plato laughs and sounds his call
Shine in fear for the gorgeousness
Seek truth in false words
Sand swept in an ocean of dreams
A pond for the graceful birds

Whilst on the hollow of all blackness
The king sits in shame
In water and fire
We'll live for the game

II.
Confusion in the ice
Hanging above
Fall in peace for all that is love
Illusions of the moon
Floating in the pond
Sit in peace for all that forms the bond

Queen Moon weeps at the altar of her king
Serenade her visions with tunes of the moon

Leaves in the snow
Spring unknown
Look below to all that is shown
Kings of earth
Bid farewell
Hope is a star that gleams in cell

III.
Silence in the cage for life
Shed the shell of shame
Sit abroad on thrones of stone
Smile for the painters frame
A sculpture of blessedness
Cracks at the figures's eye
Sail upon the rivers of our nightmares
To witness the sunlight die

Whilst on the hollow of all darkness
The year turns it's head
In air and earth
The mystics all are dead

First, loved this all in all. Some imagery there I wasn't quite sure of it's purpose/root into the "story" of the poem, but it was powerful imagery so it still worked. Like the line "Spells join the frame to live insane" - It does such an interesting thing for me. Throughout the poem you sort of pointing out these very loud, colorfully vivid glances of imagery, and the actual energy of this is captured in that line. That line places them in this sort of reality where things are just being tossed before our vision to take in in a moment of madness.
I'm rust on my philosophy, so the Epicurean drop makes sense for a love (or perils of desire) poem, but I'd be interested to hear about what Plato was screaming about (hah).
