Running

Running

A Poem by getinthecarplease

I. Hemera Upon the Shore
Still life sways in rays of dawning days
Waiting in the waterfront for some dismay
For the solitude of reminders drifting astray
My passing comes to no display
Savior of the forsaken shall charm and allay
Storms wander the valley's edge
Tear the prologues from the sea
Me and myself bid along the ledge
Limb and branch rest upon the scree
From the moments I spun in fog-clad prophecy
Limb and bone rest upon the gilded soliloquy
My memory fades in the shade of crystal glades
Fingers clasp to the steel birthed blades
Feel the vibrations from death we made
Like sunrise cloaked in lavender cascades
Seaweed flows on the dimensions left betrayed
I'm starless in the slack molding skies
"Too bright or too dark?" asks the Logos
Far across a strand of novel horizon
Out, beyond the colored shadows
I'm upon the checkered squares
Too dim to pinpoint shards of pawns
Far and oblivious to be seen
In the vicinity of spade and queen
II. Winds
Day captures the miracle lost in trysts of white
Dawns and dusk harvest the dream/the manifest
Dark rows of autumn bloom scatter in my sight
It stands as a soldier in the dust
Now and then he sees the bayonet rust
Numbers rob his name
Infinity bears his game
Life walks along the coastline
Crawls of serpentine forms
From the words of the sage
The usurper hides her veil
Past dreams flutter in images of the pale
Watching the waves drag the sand
In theaters of sea and land
Wonder of woes shatters in my hand
I am lost in this maze of relapses
Trace the moments hidden in my grave
It's rising to feel passions of plague
Patterns and paradigm diverge on the vine
In the end, along the valley's edge
Me and myself stare over the ledge
III. Village and Beach
On the riverbed, mist shrouded and ice adorned
A secrecy of thousands of years to take form
Day was old and weary leading to a noon of scorn
Like pageants of bronze and scarlet in winter born
No rain, no disturbance only the clearance of the trail
Other words try the playwright on his sail
In solemnity and a spell of cheer
A night to rid the fear
Time waiting on the shore, waiting at the door
Unique was the carousel swirling in memories
In the beginning. along the fair arcade
A distance from predetermined fate
Place the bishop against the queen
Divine was the mate, entwined in victory
Keep afloat in the rapids
Your figure among the surf
Eye of the oracle shall prophesy
On the single orb flowing in the house
The spectral fogs wandering in illusions
Icon and idol gleaming in the gray
Shining shapes spin about the scene
In an epilogue to seal the serene
The canyon with tide in between
Light pull of sapphire and emerald green
Of what it was, of what I've borne
Eternal, stretches the god malign
Mind composes the song for mankind
IV. A Last Remark
Soothing breeze on helms and trees
All in the sea, forevermore at sea
Nevermore in me
