Slumber

Slumber

A Poem by getinthecarplease

I pondered through my dreams torn asunder
buried in old booklets beneath my bed.
I found only fragments of faux reality
in which my dreamlit visions go unread.

In slumber I was lulled with roundelays
of a supernal love and reverie.
In slumber I was calmed with sanguine songs
which molded moments in my memory.

Indigo orbs staring from a portrait
of lucent beauty in a human shroud.
Sapphire seas reflect the solemn scarlet
of the sun gazing behind twilit clouds.

I pondered through days sculpted in silence
adorning the terrace beside my head.
I found only my fear far in the fens
'neath shadows of rain pouring on my bed.

I like it. A portrait of slumber. A dream-like stage. All wonderful.

Wonderful poem! I enjoyed it very much! Though I had to look up some words since English isn't my first language
