Empyrean

Empyrean

A Poem by getinthecarplease

i.
After night has bloomed with lavender petals
we'll gather moonbeams as the pool settles.
A paper flower 'neath the haloed lamps
shivers in the wind where love encamps.

Before day has shone with sunlit gleams
we'll gather threads and sew our dreams.
A paper bird floats on gusts of gray
and sings of joy to greet the day.

ii.
Azure streaks of sky pour upon the green of land.
I felt a pleasant caress of rainbows upon my hand
to which I'd tether a celtic knot
and place it among the clouds.
I dreamt of a queen empyrean
draped in her floral shrouds.

A very pleasant read. Has the feel of the classics as well as the freshness of contemporary poetry. Thank you for sharing. /Frederick.
