Crooked On Phonics

Crooked On Phonics

A Poem by E.H. Monroe
"

Another head knocking a*s shocker from the Local Ugly Maniac.

"

I am a horrid drug addict

It begins with the tap tap of the street syringe that gives life to the off time beats of the music

Please don’t mind my ADHD ADD because I must have my XYZ’s confused

My diagnosis is hopeless

And the doctor has a prescription for imaginary ailments

while drugstore cowboys inhale that

Ex-pe-a-li-docious

I bump lines of blue curves and red margins

Imagining armies of green clovers, purple moons and blackened sins

Unlock mysterious miseries in the smoky trees of memory seeds

Puff

Puff

Give

fool, don’t f**k up my rotation

A touch of exhalation, shotgun Angel’s dust into the faces of this idea pregnant nation

I am an intellectual crack Pusher

More bags of creative tar than Spiders from Mars and the Cat Ziggy who played guitar

And heroin?

She’s All in

The female protagonist with more cures than acetaminophen

Stacks of metaphoric alcoholic nectar never runs dry

We are all drunk on the minds of a thousand lies of our inner eye

And the addiction grows in every time the rain dries and a relative dies

And the addiction grows in every time we swallow pills and magic paint spills

And the addiction grows when Meth labs blow causing blood flows to create stanzas of despression

And we create a session of lines of impeccable truth

And spines of books are written in the life lines and across sky lines of the youth

I say stay hooked on the Phonics

Addicted to dream tectonics

Detoxing is the pleasure of pen to paper verbonics

How do you know you have a drug problem? When the cop tells you to walk the wtite line you get down on your knees and try to snort it.
I love the poem.especialy the meth lab blowing.people don't realize how dangerous those meth labs can be.it is true that all that cool shat you love o read was mainly written on a whole lot of drugs.I am a mommy now,so I changed my ways but back in the day I could write all night and half way through the next day.keep up the good work .I think it's cool and I don't care how many drugs it took to write it

Interesting piece. This had some words I didn't know, which was okay, I just interpreted. I like this, and the descriptions as well

Imagining armies of green clovers, purple moons and blackened sins
i like the whole thing it leaves one satisfied to sleep .Unlike some things. It is the truth and that rings well with me!

This piece would work perfectly Spoken. There are rhythms, rhymes and some quality Figures Of Sound. This types of freewheeling yet Rhyming poems are a pleasure to read.

Give me women, wine, and snuff
Until I cry out "hold, enough!"
You may do so sans objection
Till the day of resurrection:
For, bless my beard, they aye shall be
My beloved Trinity.

Monroe, the addict. Fits you nice. Deserve those puffs and those purple, hazy hells. Green smoke and Blue drinks..That's what you get for writing such A rated stuff..
A dark dictum on the world of haze..And justification.. Coke and Heroine looks all so nice n luring. A puff please..Attention deficit disorders..Confused sexual identity..really? What a way with those last few lines...

I saved my 100th review for you, Munroe! Nice work as usual. I think I get a badge now:)

Anyway, favorite line: We are all drunk on the minds of a thousand lies of the inner eye. Would love to hear this whole think in audio - wow!

Sic flo! Slammin with sharp beats that pound pavement harder than a jobless workaholic.

Puff
