Ohio Weather

A Poem by E.M.Oglesbee

Love is an eternal waterfall

cascading through your soul,

warm, sustaining, wonderful.

The world seems grander

through newly blissful eyes,

A never ending summer day.

But seasons change swiftly

and warm water can turn to ice

slicing, disfiguring, numbing,

leaving the soul torn and bleeding

But it never dies,

only aches with undying pain

And then you open your eyes

and see the world as it truly is

callous, uncaring, and above all,

Unchanging

Pros: Ahh, beautiful wording! It flows and it twists and bends with your words if that makes any sense. These images you create are vivid and paint a gorgeous, though saddening, picture. I love how the first stanza and second stanza are quite different from each other, yet they go hand in hand.

Cons: None.

Overall: Beautiful.
