Confusion

Confusion

A Poem by E.M.Oglesbee

Grey mist surrounds you,

opaque fog, thick, heavy,

clouds your way, pulls at you

The voice of reason is heard

calling through the haze

But weary limbs cannot convey

Hopelessness circles unseen

waiting to feast on unsuspecting prey

The blinding light hastens to rescue

But the shadow of hopelessness overtakes

And the light is never seen.
