Ill Prepared

When to gaze into the eye of one's own
creator and feel fear is to know that
you are not ready for such true vision.
knowledge is a friend and yet enemy
as solemn vows turn harsh encrimity
and the fires of fractious iniquities
are needlessly expunged through crooked deeds
and twisted forms of edification.
yet not quite such as more harm than good comes
forth from such benevolent pestilence.
So through the eye of the beholded is
the more enlightened path as the one to behold
is gifted with such cursed knowledge as to
perish under waves of disbelieving.
