Him

Him

A Poem by Emotional Marigolds

The wind blows across my face,

as I walk down the street.

Looking for some place,

to rest my feet.

Then I see in the distance,

waving and waving at me,

the heavenly sight of his existence:

He’s sure a sight to see.

My feet pick up their pace.

The ache leaves them as fast as it came.

I have to hurry to see his face;

I start yelling his name.

My family won’t believe it,

our family I should say.

He’s still a part of it:

His name is said every passing day

The hurt all over is gone.

I feel the lightest I can be.

But suddenly I can’t go on,

he is stopping me.

Then I realize as my heart drops to my feet,

he is not waving for me to come.

He is telling me,

leave.

Let go, let go,

he pleads to me.

I want to tell him No,

but my mouth can’t speak.

I slow down,

as he disappears.

I drop to the ground,

as he turns to air.

This travels at SOME pace, like a movie. It reads like a single thought stretched to the limit. Great write, I read it through three times
