Noodle Lake

Noodle Lake

A Poem by Earl Schumacker
"

An accidental lunch

"

Noodle Lake

The calm lake woke up suddenly

On an all consuming day

Received its first visitor from above

A truck, a tractor trailer fell from the sky

Crashed!...An accident perhaps

A high ridge to sharp

A curve too narrow

It split open like an egg on impact

Tons of noodles scurried out

Boiled up soft in high noon heat

Lunch fell over Summer over time

A waterfall shaped like a ladle

Cascading noodles watered down

Well done for sure and swirled

But what about the driver?

The sun said, I'll take two scoops

Save the rest for later

We'll see what the lake stirs up
