Indifference

Indifference

A Poem by Earl Schumacker
"

The height of inhumanity

"

Indifference

Indifference is not a form of love or hate

Certainly not a matter of loyalty or trust

A shapeless entity with tentacles not seen

That eats its victims up and spits them out

There is no compromise with an empty enemy

Lost in the storm of its own indulgences

There is no direction home with no foundation

The pinnacle of inhumanity towards others

Indifference retains the ugly name from its inception

Enveloped in evil by stone cold logic to the grave

Rushing headlong with pain and suffering caused

Into the depths of hell where it belongs

Remains another word forever lost

Lack of interest, lack of care. That's what indifference is. It sounds pretty insignificant but it can have devastating consequences. You don't have to look far either to see it. Thought provoking and we'll written lines.

And you too Earl.
and it will be something associated with human nature... it is not because of selfish reasons alone but rather of just trying not to care
