Patience

Patience

A Poem by Requs

Silent breeze among grayish red bricked towers

Each with an easel of their own

Stating the time, foreshadowed from these rain showers

Attracting my sights attention

In their white chalk it has been written

Penance to patience shown through a number

With senses about to heighten

That number goes fading then appears lower

Slower, closer, larger, closer, louder

Louder and closer

Counting down

They taunt… the rats cower

Frenzy strikes though your bones

Waves within the fork

Chilling, chilling, devoured, strangled by patience

Frozen by sounds’ gorgeous rhythmic tones

...Waves of hurt

Start to implode at each joint

Flesh strips away

You can’t comprehend this slow down; laughing, waiting, waiting

Even if you were able to stop

Everything as you know it will fly up; right past

Hope as your cast

Waves of grotesque stripping

Start eating up your lips

All because you insist having life on

A f*****g catalyst

Imaginary puppets to pass hours

One brand new ventriloquist

Held by strings

An example for the vast

How much longer could it last?

Leave the rest to stain

Endure the pain

Entertain or patience

One was your mistake

Only one has the potential to set wisdom as an impression

The other will submit further to a shameful peer pressured past

Lol, sorry I'm kind of lost with this, but like Mary had said, the Authors Note, made it much easier to portray what it menat. Patience is a virtue in which we must learn to endure. It's also a virtue that is hard to use also. I myself am very impatient in time, but we aren't all perfect.
The second stanza was a real grim imagery. Nice way to depict patience in a very (in my case) confusing way. I still like it though.

You have a unique way of conveying a message. I'll be honest, I had no idea what it was about until I read the authors note, but your poetry flows so well and it's so interesting that I keep reading, I try to sift through the words and find the meaning. You did a wonderful job.
