Days when the sun scorchs

Days when the sun scorchs

A Poem by Edmund S. Obumba
"

best left for the readers opinion.

"
When we met,it was a field of flowers
Blossoming in the morning dew,
the suns rays splitting into an array of colors,
gently reflected on your hazelnut eyes.

We fell in love, our hearts were thawed by the beautiful warmth,
the sun became our elixir,
we'd bask in its embrace,
smiling in love and passion.
My poetry scythed your heart,
left you in awe, your beautiful cheeks pink
in a blush..we were eternity..
together we were immortal..

We bore through the storms together,
hands tight in embrace.
Always hopeful, looking up to the sky
hoping for the sun to come,
we suffered verbal battles together
wiped the smirk off each other
after pelts with rotten words and rumors.
It was dark, but we glowed, like the sun.

But that was then.
The sun seems to have moved closer..
the flowers have their heads bowed in a wilt,
the grass where we lay has died,
Here i am all alone.
Wiping the sweat off my face,
nose skin ripping from the flares..
i did my damnedest,
lost the glow we had..
 I miss you
