Her Epilogue

Her Epilogue

A Poem by Final-Karma
"

On this night, our dreams come true

"
Under the solemn moonlight

A shadow creeps over marble white
Staining it's traces
Claws reach from the depths
Figures stand with no faces

Her beauty protected

All she sees is golden

The wolves gather in mass
Witnesses to the end
Innocence killed in ornate style
Forever alive among the dead

She never breaks her smile

Lights hugging every curve

Caressed by it's cold embrace
The emissary of life
Leaving her hollow and in place

The circle tightens

Her dreams fade

Under sullen skies
This is her time of pleasures
Turned grim and dismay
As one, the voices sang

"Give unto your life for this cause

O, woe is thee
For what comes next is unseen

We invoke you this night

Our master of morning light"

The howl of winds so strong
Ascendence cut short
Overwhelmed in a sea of flames

She drowns in beautiful misery

Deprived of ugly remorse

Displays of elegance in torn form

Preserved

Her beauty amplified
Shared among the pack
Her innocence
Crimson red

Shrouded

Under this dreaded moonlight

When it comes to poetry I tend to be into nonsense verse and surrealism and this seems more like occult poetry with weird fiction overtones. But I really liked it the tone was wonderful, and sustained throughout the piece. while the language itself was engaging.

Somehow the poem reminded me of Joan of Arc standing up in faith against society. I like the flow of the verses and the strange combination of beauty and dread that they made me picture. Yet, I felt the dread of the moonlight at the start and serenity of being self-aware at the end. Can you explain what you intended with the reverse?
