The Void

New life is brought into our world.

It wanders over liquid plains

Trapped in this lasting darkness

Eyes mirrored with hope

Horns protrude with magnificence

Duran, The Husk 

Over lesser this duality splits

A breach to behold that carries life

What lies beyond these waves of silence?

The broken bones of destiny fleeting 

A final moment

Knocking on faiths door for an answer

Tap, rap, tap, tap

A chant echoing its approach

Resounding cries and mumbled oaths

A message is given

"Cross the threshold

Lose your mind

Secrets to reveal

Mercy for the blind"

Accepting all that was 

The sway of perplex being

It enters the universe

Shedding its divinity 

Losing meaning of self

Three crosses lay sprawled 

Falling to knees uncertain

Left like a creature to crawl

It catches the flicker of fire

Duran, The Lost 

From the flames it reaches

Unholy author reads out

The words cut like daggers

It curls inside itself

A phantom of heaven

"Fall silent, dear Duran, trails

The grave beckons your mind

Until the snake stops eating its tail"

Sweet word's ordained with blood

Venom spit from loving eyes

Such a good mother who gave life

A final lingering cry

A New World is here

"Welcome, on mantles of dead

Duran, The Undying has come

Sing until the end"

Our kingdom will blossom

Lost among the echoes

Who is Duran to it?

Thoughts frozen in motion

A women approaches

"Duran is he who lives"

Her whisper brings peace

What a beautiful creature

Sparkles of light in her eyes

It feels estranged tones of warmth

It speaks for the first time

"Duran is I"

Hmm, interesting. This first part had me visualizing myself wandering aimlessly through an abyss only to find true solace throughout the struggle. You have an uncanny way with your writing and that's the appeal of you. So many situations in life have ambiguity and that opens the door for us to learn more overall. I'd say keep up this series because you certainly get the mind engaged in critical thinking. :) Nice work
