Streaks of Red

Streaks of Red

A Poem by Elaenor Aisling

Dark you stood

In fields of white

Streaks of red

Punctuating

The tranquility.

Broad you stood

By the wood shed

Streaks of red

Slicing

The wood.

Silently you stood

In the quiet room

Streaks of red

Staining

The carpet.

Bravely you stood

On the field

Streaks of red

Covering

The ground.

Shocked you stood

On free soil

Streaks of red

Maring

Their pride.

This is not a lovely poem, this is a hard hitting, clever, emotion poem, with striking images that punch the reader to feel something..although the subject matter is hard - this poem has a delicate touch..a delight to read.
