The Hardest Feeling to Express

Anything I want to say is in the poem...

 

Everything is so different now

And yet it is all the same

Yesterday we said the vow

That bound us together

Today, I walk in

Knowing everything is different

And you come in-

With the same feelings as well

Then our eyes meet

An awkward smile comes out

And we laugh at ourselves

I find myself aware of new feelings

It’s all so overwhelming

Knowing we're setting ourselves up

For a harder road than others

A group of people that are hated

Then I look at you

Finding you already looking at me

And know everything will be alright

I wonder if this is about marriage? If so, why is it a HARDER road to take? I can only assume there is something more in it than that?

I do struggle to draw much from this, not because I am insensitive, but because it's such a typical kind of feeling...general nervousness, anticipation and excitement. It is a descriptive observational piece that gives us some insight into possible contexts, but which ultimately evades capture and kind of winks at us from a distance, aware of its purpose but not prepared to integrate. That said, it is not to be thought of as anything other than poetry. A kind of poetry that will remind people of their own subjectivity, which is fine by me...

My personal view is that it doesn't surprise me, but then not everyone wants to be surprised...

seems passionately accentuated by the desire to succeed in making such a, admirational love
work for sake of heart, and i'm sure many people can relate the well experessed meaning in
