Falling leaves

Falling leaves

A Poem by ElenWin

Once a beautiful, nurturing pillar.

Now, on the inside, still her.

Unwillingly she relinquished leaf after leaf;

time can be a heartless and efficient thief.

From the outside, now she is an empty nest,

full of fallen leaves, confusion and unrest.

Her branches stretching towards the past,

Mourning a life that went by too fast.

A beautiful poem displaying the passing of time, and our inability to hold onto it.
