Medicated Cure

medication causes more of the mental illness...

Lithium calms the warmth in my blood,

Making me manically depressively dull,

Radically freezing, blinding, and burning,

It’s blackening my senses, and drowning the fury,

My mind is blank, my vision is blurring,

The men in white suits come to take me,

Binding me in leather chairs and electrical wiring.

A medicated cure,

So “uncommon”,

“Very safe” they assure,

 It sounds so alluring.

Paralyzing my body, I’m emotionless; unresponsive.

My ego becomes more and more depressive.

Dosage per dosage,

The lithium whitens my skin and bleaches my lips

Consuming me whole, my blood sits cold,

Reality trips…

 Insomnia within, awakens, and presses my skull,

It feeds through my eyelids, translucent and pure.

Medicated cure for the mind do little. I agree. Most people become quiet and lose their desire. I believe need activities to work the mind and body. A powerful poem that open the door to a good topic. I like the description in this poem. A strong ending to a outstanding poem.

health is a gift only those who lose it can feel how much priceless it is. if we are living healthy and normally we forget this gift taking it for granted. but as sson as we have any healthy problem, we start to complain..
i really wish all your pains come over if this poem is related to you
