Duplicity

Duplicity

A Poem by ElizabethAmBurns
"

Cheaters dance the dance of duplicity.

"
Derailed by thought, entrails of the mind,
Blood greases the wheels from the contract you signed.
Down we go down again, it never fails
You're the most intense when you've gone off the rails.

You never would have known such intensity.
Had you not danced the dance of duplicity.

A fork in the road, a spoon in your mouth,
You gorge on the praise and it goes to your south.
Up we go up again, it never fails,
You're the most obscene when you can't see the nails.

You never would have known such obscenity.
Had you not danced the dance of duplicity.

A bird in the hand, you own the whole bush,
You're on top of the world and I'm on top of a push.
Down we go down again, it never fails.
You're so inflated but there's no more air for your sails.

Never would you have known my ferocity,
Had you simply deigned not to dance with me.

Interesting way to describe the subject matter... the usage of language as a reader takes this verse... in the lines... you just rip into this one... and let the words come out...
