A day of the tarnishing mind

A day of the tarnishing mind

A Poem by EloisaWrites
"

because we cease to think our own thoughts.

"
Curiosity
is knowing of what
happened to who
from when
to where;
a start and an end
and a cunning speculation.

Sympathy
is mouthing of what
was heard from whom
from when
to where;
a whispered bout and a crime broadcasted
and an unrivaled opinion.

Compassion
is finger-pointing of what
was sinned to who
from when
to where;
an ignorant guess and a blind verdict
and a narcissistic obsession. #

The repetition of certain lines here really packs a punch. Who can point the finger to say someone is to blame? Who is truly without any fault? We are all curious beings and sometimes I think we repeat things we hear without realizing the pain we can cause by doing so. You have captured human nature here....I liked it even though it seemed to be a bit of a scolding. Lydi**

This is twisted.
Yet, I think this is what I find in my life when others promise me compassion and understanding.
A chance to look at our own actions as well.
Powerful and scathing.
