Scared of Them

This piece describes me & my personal struggles with anxiety.

I awaken to discover
you left me roses
on the pillow beside me.
As I study them,
a deep-rooted feeling
makes it's home…
trying to teach me
not to care, but instead,
it holds the weight of your dreams
and helps me to remember
the taste of you.
It is a simple thing
which gives my silence a sound
and I am unsure as to
whether I will ever
be able to take any time,
sit down, shut up,
and write you
out of my heart.
