A Poem by I Am Svetlana

In the company
of a blank wall,
I give a voice
to paper.

Among missed opportunities,
so much is still possible.
This I say & know.
I put down my pen.

I wish to write poems
for little magazines.
One waits to feel
gratitude for success.

Smiling by the telephone,
listening to the shouting children.
It takes time & eternity
to bring back the art.

Wonderfully expressed Emily, being an adult and child in toe. Do sadly curtail pleasure you once enjoyed before they were born. It's just finding the right time to engage in them again.

Indeed parenthood and careers distract us if we have faint hearts and often curtail any ambition to pursue more creative spheres. You have this written in a flowing short verse.

It feels at times even graffiti on an abandoned wall is read more than my words. Your write, on the other hand - brings hope back to my pen - for here I am reading your wonderful piece. Nice share... :-)

Very well - writing is fun and pretty much labor work that you gotta do when you gotta do either taking care of time or taking moments stolen from time. Nicely put. Looking forward to reading your work.

It is a tough job writing, and even if you do it for pleasure, it is always nice when someone appreciates your writing. I enjoyed it.
