It's an unusual format that sort of lures the reader to re-read.. the repeated 'tick .. tock' is almost hypnotic but, not quite else i would have nodded off, which i certainly didn't!

I think you did a great job with the rhythm, it ticks and tocks the whole time in every word. I felt like I could hear it as I read. Only problem I have is, to short.

I like this but would like to see it shortened even more...the syllables, to mimic the tick tock of the time passing. Perhaps "lips part" where you have "lips confess" and like that straining the double syllables into a symbol of tick tocking time. just a thought.
