A Poem by Emily B

there will be words today
or rain
I can never seem to tell the difference

clouds form

     thoughts swell

preparing for relief that may come

your dreams lay waiting
for the sunshine of a smile
and the quenching of a word

rain is promised from painted skies

lie back
     rest yourself a moment

soon words will fall
you will be soaked through
by the longing in a voice

comfort will wrap you up
and fill you

     with promised sweetness

It should't grow, its perfect as it is ... I love how you beautifully connected lack of words , to lack of water , dry as the desert , sometimes we feel the emptiness of no words , like praying for the rain to come and wash us all .... all poets can relate to this , we are the words people , we are longing to be heard on dry periods ... only a writer that know how hard it is , not to fid the right words to express the feelings , wait for the rain to come , wet the ground again before the first bloom... thank you for briinging so much beauty into here xx

yes, we shouldn't force things to grow, sometimes we need to lie back and let things unfold and dangle our feet with our hands raised to the infinite skies that shall share its magical message soon soon soon

this savors of mary oliver. i hear it in the same voice that i hear her poetry.
also, this is an image i happen to love. the idea of being wet with words, and also of having them come. they fall over us -often unbidden- i think, rather than spring from within.

This poem made me happy. Simple as that, to think of thoughts as some peaceful summer raincloud waiting to burst. Where I live, I have plenty experience with that. :) The comfort of a realization, or an epiphany... I like it.

"your dreams lay waiting
for the sunshine of a smile" - I want to write something like this, something with a deep meaning and a beautiful face.

Well done!
