Chimes

Chimes

A Poem by Emily L

Chimes
My legs lie between the grass, feeling every
soft blade tickle my bare skin.
Me and the earth now become one.
Looking up I realize there is no sky, the green
luscious oak trees  leaves have shaded
me from the clouds.
The field where I reside is silent.
No man or beast play where I lay.
It is just me, the grass, the wind, and the chimes.
So mysterious they ring out from beyond the plain.
Their haunting yet memorizing hymns raps itself
around my tingling toes and warms my soul.
The wind begins to play with my hair all while humming
my gentle lullaby to send me to sleep in the arms of nature.

Welcome Emily!
Only a few have the gentle heart of enjoying the pleasure in nature. And your adorable lines say if you're capable of that or not. Exquisite usage of your words and perfectly carved sentences from your feelings makes me read this poem again and again. Thanks for that Emily :)

That was so peaceful. Took me away from my computer and put me in that grass with the chimes sounding in the distance. Such beauty. Thanks for sharing this, was a breathe of fresh air!
