Her Cries

Her Cries

A Poem by Theo Ratcliffe

The screams,
The haunting screams,
All those people,
Calling for help,
Help they'll never get.

And I don't do anything about it.

Then,
Her screams,
Her haunting screams,
They start,
Her begging for help.

I know what happens.

I hear her cries,
I feel her sorrow,
I see her pain.

Her plead for help,
Her tear stained cheeks,
Her wish for freedom.

And I can't do anything about it.
