At a Fair

At a Fair

A Poem by Penny Dreadful

Last tuesday little miss Lucy Holland

along with her teddy bear

boarded a bus and away they travelled

to the annual county fair

At the fair they rode some rides

and played some games of chance

They even saw a man on stilts

wearing polka dot pants!

Down sat Lucy at the end of the day

so tired after the fair

She, however forgot quite soon

she forgot her teddy bear

So the next day it was back on the bus

right back to the county fair

"Please oh please", she begged to God

"help me find my teddy bear".

Shouts of alarm were let out loud

when she got to the empty fair grounds

"He's gone!" she thought with all hope lost

she didnt think he'd ever be found

She slumped to the curb in a pool of tears

cursing the vanished fair

Then in amazement, felt a thick soft fur

and with a hug screamed "My teddy bear!"

Very well-written, child-friendly kind of old-fashioned poem. Great rhymes and metre. Sweet as cotton candy. Excellent work.
