December dawnA Poem by EmpressPoetessWindswept terrains of dried fallen leaves Frozen shadows of footsteps long past Breath, chilled, a wispy trail of mist
The ground below douses the hearts glee But what beauty the eyes see above That of a vast turquoise canvas!
Gently brushed by a superior hand That knows the joy that color brings Those bold and pastel paintings
Stroked across a silent December sky Those corals touched by gold and blue And fiery pillows caressed by silver
Few things today can bring such awe Or bring a gasp of pure pleasure Than the sight of a December dawn © 2010 EmpressPoetessReviews
