Rueful Intoxication

Rueful Intoxication

A Poem by Luna Zerimar
"

Off from the top of my head. It's what I actually came home to today.

"
I come home. Come home to you drunk.
I come. Come to see you on the floor.
Just sputtering words. Senseless words.

Why can't you see?
See what this is doing to me?

I love you.

..Oh God, how I love you.

But in this moment, you're nothing to be. Absolutely nothing to me.

You have all this stress. You smoke cigarettes.
Can't deal with the realness.

Can you?

And even thought I've told you, told you, told you..
You don't give a damn about how I feel.

I know this is just the beginning.

There'll be more days like these.
Just with you drunk.
Sputtering words. Senseless words.

I hate you.

...I hate you.

Could be entirely hypocritical, but i know this feeling.
And i no longer talk to who it was, even though they meant the world to me.
I was never with him.
I was probably worse once, ending up in hospital.
In that moment though, i fully understood the effects i had on people around me.
I do hate him.
I hate a lot of people that i knew back then.
Because you cannot write in words the pain that is felt, nothing will ever be enough.
It is a feeling that i wouldn't wish on anyone.

I normally don't review, which I really should, but I've caught myself looking at your profile and just reading everything you right, I get inspiration to write, a second side of the story, like, if I was on the other side of an argument, what would be the thoughts I would have? Great poem :)

The repetition in this piece compliments the stress and emotions behind the words, great work :)

Such powerful emotion you have spun here. The powerful expression leaves room for a vivid scene unfolding. Very well penned.
