I'd die for you

I'd die for you

A Poem by Woody
"

can't find a thing to say. sorry

"

They’d finished making love and lay, spent

They were sprawled in the shade, dozing off

He looked into her eyes and he went:

I’d die for you, I’m not showing off

She purred: pray tell how many times, dude

And climbed in the dumpster, looking for food

Woody, my good man ... I simply insist you meet a pal of mine I met on this very day. He's the 3rd Musketeer. He's probably a tad more romantic in spirit. But that's what's great about him.

And it would be a weeping tale of sorrow should you guys miss out on each other.

Today is one of those rare days me thinks :)

First she has you in her claws... the next thing you know, your going dumpster diving... that's feline love for ya, go figure. I had a great chuckle with Woody ! You are one of the masters at satire

I love that your poem balances beautifully on the cusp of seeming like it's written about 2-legged lovers . . . or no, wait . . . it's about 4-legged lovers! I totally get that securing food is the highest form of cat adoration & I love that the guy is doing the dumpster diving. How did we humans get this part so wrong? (I'm still looking for a man who will cook & BBQ for me!) *heh! heh! heh!*

I'm purring with contentment.
I feel a kinship to the woman in this poem and have certainly met the man, at the very least, a handful of time. Perhaps it is the feline expressive point that get me, this reads so many ways to me in such a short amount of words. Can't wait to read more of what you've got.
