Diet

Diet

A Poem by Woody

This is the story of Hugh Mongusbum

A free spirit and a wonderful mate

Kind and generous as a rule of thumb

Though he’s a little bit overweight

He’s wife doesn’t enjoy sex anymore

His gut is to blame, his weight an ordeal

Not on the bed, not even on the floor

In his shoes, imagine how you’d feel

He exercised daily, went to the gym

Worked out ‘n pumped iron n’ used the treadmill

Hoping that one day he will become slim

But fat and flabby he remained still

The nutritionist saw the problem straight away

So he suggested: “why don’t you diet?”

In Hugh’s face joy took the place of dismay

He said: “which colour d’you think she’ll like it?”

Loved the eponymous name of the owner of the abominable abdominals , together with the colourful finale. You certainly know how to bring out the worst in your character and the belly laughs (sorry, no pun intended) for your readers. Thanks,Woody, for being my favourite sit down comedien.

I like that you seem to do a lot more whimsical poems then most of the overly deep and dark poems in here. It's nice to remind those this medium can also be silly and playful.

Hahahaha!
That's what I'm talking about it.
Haymakers. I like to consider your finishing lines like an uppercut delivered in the right moment to knock out an opponet.

This one is great. It seems like a silly ol' joke but there's a real meaning behind it.
And the fact that it's hilarious is a nice bonus.

Thanks for the story mate.

and I'm overjoyed and flattered :) thanks a lot for stopping to read and for the kind words, Emmie.
XD again you got me in stitches! Very clever use of syntax here that certainly helps with the flow. I dare say this is nearly a poem as much as a story but another fun one too! You've yet to disappoint!

This brought a smile to my lips. You are indeed very talented if you can manage to convey your message in rhyme.
