Blankets

Blankets

A Poem by Andrea
"

The blissful innocence of childhood.

"
Lost under a tent of blankets
with a flashlight and a book,
or perhaps a tea-party with some friends,
a cave where the animals can hide.

Her kindergarten eyes do glisten
and her toothless grin so wide.
She'd tell the stories of a rainbow world
and show the imaginative thoughts
floating through her mind.

So peaceful
and so brilliant,
lost in a moment
of bliss.
I now long for those moments
when magic filled the air
and I didn't have
a care in the world.

This just sent me back to childhood and brought a smile to my face, as i picture myself under the covers, torch in hand, with my commando comics imagining being action man (GI Joe) and saving the world from whoever the enemy was that week. ps... it was always commando comics because if i read the funny cartoon comics my mum and dad would hear me and take away my torch. Happy days. Oh, and fantastic write too. thank you for sharing this. brought back good memories.

Our minds create the world---Buddah

So when we say, "Oh, for the day" it may
be in your next writing or your next cup
of coffee.
We long for the days of our childhood
wthout realizing that those days are just
a dream away. Your next great romance
is waiting . The next great song is waiting
for your pen to write.
Preaching over:
Your poem is one of the excruciatingly good
ones, you go into a place where real people
dwell, you examine the living , amuse the '
children and please the adults.
That is the kind of poem you write.
It is beautiful and captivating It is life.
Thank you,
Eagle Cruagh
