Annihilation Of The Black Light

A poem I wrote after listening to the song 'Kill The Light' by Lacuna Coil. it's an amazing song, go listen to it.

Petrified under the flashing lights

Unable to comprehend the visions of the night

 

Men and woman alike

Strangers to the other's skin

Yet dancing arm in arm and grinding with their lust

 

Lost of their sanity

They prey upon each other

Not caring about safety

Only the cravings in their loins

 

My hands stay at their sides

Stalking them with bloodshot eyes

 

Although, the word stalk seems a bit harsh

Mostly just observing with deep interest

The music bounces through the floor

Shaking glasses on the bar with vigorous thrusts

And almost breaking their vodka filled drinks

 

Everybody seems happy and content

Just as normal, mindless zombies filled with adrenaline dance with no regret

 

Parties don't last forever

 

The door breaks in half

Sending the bouncer through the wall

 

Military men stand outside the portal into the once bouncing party

Now everything seems to be over

 

Gunshots ring through the room

Bullets fly and people cry

Blood splattered across the colorful floor

And guts become a welcoming galore

 

The screams can be stopped

Yet I do nothing

And watch them in amusement

 

Silly people with their hopeful plans to have fun

There is no fun for the unintelligent

 

I watch the men with guns stand in the doors

Finished with their primary objectives

Yet unsure of what to do with me

 

I don't ask for freedom

And I don't beg for mercy

 

I just stand there

In the corner

With my bloodshot eyes

And I smile

 

They finally killed the black light
